Harwood, Texas – August 18, 2026 – Texas Agridrone Services is continuing to help Texas farmers and ranchers control weeds and brush as the agricultural drone industry adjusts to major changes in the U.S. market. In December 2025, the FCC added foreign-produced drones and critical components to its Covered List, preventing new covered models from receiving FCC authorization. Previously authorized drone models can still be used, sold, and purchased under the new rules.
The change has pushed the agricultural drone industry to look harder at American production. U.S. manufacturers are working to increase production, while the USDA is now funding research focused specifically on optimizing U.S.-manufactured spray drones for agricultural applications. But building a domestic supply chain takes time, especially for important parts such as batteries and motors.
For Texas Agridrone Services owner Curtis Schramm, the focus remains on what farmers and ranchers need right now. “There are a lot of changes happening with agricultural drones, but weeds and brush aren’t going to wait for the industry to catch up,” Schramm said. “Our job is to keep helping landowners get the work done. We’re bridging that gap one farm at a time.”
That means continuing to help landowners deal with pasture weeds, mesquite, huisache, prickly pear, invasive brush, fence lines, and other vegetation problems across Central and South Texas. Texas Agridrone Services uses advanced agricultural drone technology to provide precise, consistent application, including on challenging terrain where traditional equipment may be harder to use.
